EVENT ROUTES
The White Rose Classic offers a stunning cycling experience, with the offer of a daring ride for our more experienced cyclists. Take a tour of Gods own back yard starting and finishing in the beautiful Spa town of Ilkley.
Riders will take in the breathtaking landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales whilst tackling some legendary climbs the county is famous for… Oh and a few unknown local climbs to test you along the way!
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a weekend warrior, our routes are designed to match every level of fitness and ambition.
THE OPTIONS
The Short One
Distance: 58km (36miles)
Elevation Gain: 787m (2,585)
Designed for those riders, who are looking for a steadier pace or even those new to cycling events. The route avoids our steepest climbs and instead focuses on a beautiful ride through the quieter lanes of the Dales, with a few gentle hills to keep things interesting.
It’s the perfect route for those wanting to enjoy the scenery without the test of the longer rides.

The Intermediate One
Distance: 70km (44miles)
Elevation Gain: 1130m (3,708ft)
This is perfect for cyclists looking to experience the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales with a hearty challenge. This route takes in two of the local reservoirs as you weave around the Wharfedale valley. Riders will face not just lumps and bumps, but climbs for locals and tourists alike.
This route offers a great opportunity for those who may not be accustomed to longer distances but still want to experience a challenging ride in the picturesque County.

The Challenge
Distance: 135km (84 miles)
Elevation Gain: 2,397m (7,867ft)
Like its name suggests this route offers a tough but achievable challenge for those more experienced riders. While slightly shorter than the Epic Route, it still packs plenty of climbing, including the iconic Cote de Norwood Edge and new for 2025, Brootes Lane and Black Park.
The route perfectly balances hard climbs and the serenity of the Dales, making it ideal for advanced cyclists who are ready to take on a more substantial challenge with the added bonus of scenic views.

The Epic One
Distance: 200km (124miles)
Elevation Gain: 3,325m (10,909ft)
For those seeking the ultimate challenge, this Epic route offers a gruelling ride deep into the Yorkshire Dales but be warned it is not for the faint hearted! Offering an array of climbs, technical descents, and breathtaking views, this route is designed for seasoned cyclists who are ready to push their limits.
Highlights include the famous Cote de Norwood Edge, Cote De Fleet Moss and Coal Road, and new for 205 Black Park. You’ll also enjoy a series of sweeping valley roads combined with the climbs which will test both your endurance and your skill.

KEY ROUTE FEATURES
- Scenic Views: All routes will take riders through the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, with views of rolling hills, rustic stone walls, and idyllic villages.
- Support and Safety: First Aid support is available across all routes. Mechanical support on the start line and at the 1st feed station as a minimum. Marshals will help guide participants at key points / at the feed stations.
- Route Signage – All routes are fully sign posted, with additional safety signage where appropriate to warn participants to take care.
- Refreshment Stations: Strategically located throughout each route, offering water, energy drinks, snacks, and sugary treats to help you refuel.
