White Rose Classic – Event Details

The White Rose Classic is considered by many past participants to be the premier sportive to take part in. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 6th July 2025 from our HQ in the beautiful Spa town of Ilkley, Yorkshire.

Full details will be provided in the Road Book, which is emailed out a couple of weeks before the event. Below is some useful information to help you plan.

OUR HQ

Location: Nell Bank, Denton Road, Ilkley, LS29 0DE

Start Time: Sign on from 6.45am, first riders leaving from 7.00am. Last riders to leave by 9.00am.

Finish Time: We ask riders to be back no later than 6.30pm

Parking: There is ample free parking on the site

Campervans: Campervans are permitted to park up the night before, but you must first arrange this with the Nell Bank team. Their contact details can be found on their website: Nell Bank

Facilities: Nell Bank has onsite washrooms and ample seating areas.

Bike racks are provided

GETTING TO NELL BANK

By Car: Ilkley sits on the A65 which runs through the centre of Ilkley, which makes the town accessible. When using Sat Nav, please LS29 0DE as the route will get you on to the A65 at some point depending on your location. Once in Ilkley you will pick up our event location signage.

By Train: Operated by Northern Rail – There are direct trains to Ilkley from Leeds or Bradford train stations on regular basis, if travelling from Skipton you will need to change at Shipley to get to Ilkley. Please check local timetables.

Cycling: If arriving on your bike please be careful when entering the site, the main entrance is also used by arriving cars and participants heading off on their chosen route. The site entrance is marshalled between 6.30am & 9.30am and clearly signed, along with the car park exit.

ACCOMMODATION

There are various hotels and B&B’s in and around Ilkley. For 2025 we have teamed up with the CRAIGLANDS Hotel that offers riders a reduce rate if booked direct over the phone.

FEED STATIONS

The White Rose Classic is renowned for the food provided at our feed stops. We provide a selection of savoury treats, pies, cakes, sweets and bananas along with energy bars and energy drinks.

There are 3 feed stops located in Grassington, Hawes and Settle. All routes go via Grassington, with the Challenge and Epic routes going via Settle and the Epic via Hawes.

ROUTE SIGNAGE

All the routes are adequately signed and placed in line of sight in clear locations. GPX files, (Garmin and Strava) are provided to riders in the week before the event.

FIRST AID SUPPORT

First Aid support is provided by Platinum Medical and they cover all routes.

MECHANICAL SUPPORT

We provide mechanical support on the start line from Ellis Briggs and at the 1^st feed stop, (Grassington) from Hopey Cycle Repairs, and for 2025 we’ll have roving mechanical support. Full details will be in the Road Book
